RegenOss is a composite bone graft made of collagen and hydroxyapatite. Magnesium-hydroxyapatite crystals are formed on collagen fibres by a patented process that imitates natural bone mineralisation, giving a porous scaffold whose structure and chemistry resemble human bone.
Flexible and easy to shape
RegenOss is supplied as flexible patches and strips that follow the curve of the graft site and can be cut to the size and shape of the defect during surgery.
The material is highly hydrophilic and quickly takes up biological fluids, molecules and cells, while its porous structure guides cells to attach and multiply. It is resorbed by enzymes and cells over roughly 6 to 12 months.
Indications
RegenOss is intended for filling bone gaps and voids. It does not replace standard procedures for treating bone defects and must be used with appropriate mechanical stabilisation and internal fixation.
It can be combined with autologous bone, physiological fluids, antibiotics and platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
