Trauma

There are many excellent companies offering trauma products to UK hospitals so to be relevant in this market Joint Operations looked for a partner that offered meaningful progress to the existing standard of care.  We coupled this with the desire to work within our chosen sub speciality of extremities and therefore we had a particular interest in the treatment of fractures for the foot and ankle and the upper limb.

NewClip Technics have an outstanding range of anatomic plates to treat fractures for the fibula, wrist, elbow, shoulder and clavicle. Their philosophy is to incorporate improvements into every element of their plates that combine to make them extremely anatomical, user friendly, efficacious and safe for the patient.

Recently they have taken the great advance of removing the instrumentation and stock required to service a trauma case. With the Initial R (Radius) and Initial A (Ankle) kits the hospital receives the plate, the screws and the instrumentation sterile packed into a single box.  This eliminates many of the logistical challenges for the theatre department, reduces the environmental impact of packaging and processing kits and speeds up the surgery reducing anaesthesia and theatre time. Remarkably, major cost savings are also being delivered, the Initial products are less expensive than most traditionally presented trauma implants.
