LP-ESP®

The LP-ESP® lumbar disc was developed by Professor Roy Camille to mimic the natural motion of the disc. Ten years in development, the disc is of monobloc design with titanium endplates, a silicone inner nucleus and a polycarbonate urethane outer annulus. Each endplate is coated with hydroxyapatite to aid osseointegration and features spikes for primary stability. The disc allows six degrees of freedom and upon implantation will find its own centre of rotation. A unique and highly accurate manufacturing process, where the polycarbonate urethane is injection moulded into grooves in the endplate ensures there is no chance of wear debris, and the non-surface bearing design ensures longevity. The choice of inclinations has been designed to restore natural lordosis. There are no reports of migration or lateral lockdowns to date.
